The Agenda
The Kenya Diaspora Advisory Council of Georgia will advocate for issues that affect Kenyans in Diaspora and friends of Kenya to both the US and Kenyan governments. The KDAC will use it’s power of numbers to make sure this items are heard and address by the respective governments. The following list captures the agenda items that KDAC will advocate for (in no particular order). To be effective, the KDAC will prioritize and work on two or three items at a time and then move on to other issues.
- Right to vote in the diaspora for the next elections
- Ability to get Kenya ID’s in the US
- Ability to get Kenyan PIN numbers in the US
- Kenya consulate in Atlanta
- Reaching all students in various schools
- Sharing KDAC’s information with the new arriving people
- Repel section 78 of the constitution
- Create a DAC’s website and facebook page
- Enactment of dual citizenship bill
- Improvement of Customer service at the Kenya Embassy (example, not asking for unnecessary information and documentation)
- Discounted airfares and direct flights to Kenya
- Immigration issues
